Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Swallowed by the Mighty C&H, the Osceola shafts were the scene of the copper country's worst mine fire disaster with over thirty miners sealed inside the burning mine to suffocate the raging fire. Long past her glory, the shafthouse sits idly rusting in the Keweenaw Climate, awaiting the day when hard rock miners will descend into her bowels and harvest the red metal again....
Tom and Scott, two self taught (and learning everyday!) photographers live on the tip of Michigan's Keweenaw peninsula, a 45 mile spit of ancient rock surrounded by the majesty of Lake Superior. Scoured clean by the last ice age, the Keweenaw is a geologic and nature lover's paradise, exposing 1.1 billion year old layers of basalt, conglomerate, and sandstones, covered by a thin layer of stony soil that supports a diverse boreal flora and fauna.
